   The Lake Shore Railway Historical Society (lsrhs.railway.museum) has recently acquired

Lake Shore & Michigan Southern boxcar #62924.  (Yes, this is a BOXCAR!)  This car also wore NYC #231924 and was last used as a line car (#530) on the EECRR in Erie, PA.

    Restoration of this relic will be FCM's first adopted project.  This page will be updated with news and photos as the restoration plans begin to take shape.  Data is currently being collected with the intent of producing a kit of this car.  Sales of the kit will help fund restoration.  Stay tuned...

   The car had to be dis-assembled for transporting on a flatbed and was unloaded at the museum.  It

will be tarped for the winter.  An ambitious project for sure, but it's a piece of history worth saving. 

   Studying relics such as this provides a wealth of information that enables Full Circle Models and other manufacturers to produce high quality kits with attention to detail.  We encourage all modelers to support restoration & preservation efforts.
